The 45-second teaser shows all the cast members deeply engrossed in the launching what touted as India’s first space mission, Mangalyaan. The 51-year-old, Akshay Kumar, who looks pretty impressive in grey hair and glasses look, is seen leading the team with glimpses of hope in his eyes.
Interestingly, the cast is a female dominated one which isn’t a common case in Bollywood films. Akshay Kumar didn’t shy away from applauding the ladies, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, Vidya Balan, Nithya Menen and Kirti Kulhari for their excellent work in the film and real life.
He said, “The script demands them to be ahead. They are the real heroes. I am supposed to be behind them even though I am producing it. I am very happy to see these five girls, who are very big in their own way, and are not bothered that there are five of them in the film, come together.”
The film will be Akshay’s fifth Independence Day release since 2013 (except 2014) which will fight head-on with John Abraham’s ‘Batla House’ and Prabhas’ ‘Saaho’ which also look promising going by their teasers and first looks.
