Veteran actors Anupam Kher and Naseeruddin’s words war takes wrong turn

Naseeruddin Shah calls Anupam Kher a clown who should not be taken seriously. Anupam Kher responds with a viral video on Twitter says that nobody should take Shah seriously because of all the substances he’s been injecting over the years.

While we like to call Twitter a war place; this time two of the senior-most Bollywood actors have taken a jibe at each other, but not on Twitter. This time a word-war has initiated between Naseeruddin Shah and Anupam Kher who have been mud-slinging on each other with matters related to the CAA-NRC-NPR. Friends-turned-foes Shah and Kher are at a massive war or words which is keeping the Twitterati entertained.

It all began when in a recent interview with The Wire where Naseeruddin Shah was asked about his viewpoints on the CAA-NRC-NPR. To which he responded, “Someone like Anupam Kher has been very vocal. I don’t think, he needs to be taken seriously. He is a clown and any number of his contemporaries from NSD and FTII can attest to his psychopathic nature. It is in his blood, he can’t help it.”

The clown comment didn’t go down well with Kher who responded with a selfie video on Twitter. The ‘A Wednesday’ actor said that Shah has a habit of pulling other actors down. In the past, he has criticized stars like Dilip Kumar Sahab, Amitabh Bachchan, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh Khan and Virat Kohli which proves that he is in the right company.

He accused Shah of using substances that have clouded his vision. Nobody took him seriously because he can no longer differentiate between right and wrong said Anupam Kher. Kher added fuel to the fire with his concluding statement. He said that if Naseeruddin could manage to make some headlines by belittling the BJP candidate then it would be his gift for the ageing actor.

Shah, on the other hand, has been vocal about his affinity towards the recently passed Citizenship Amendment Act that caused national unrest. The law has divided the country into two interest groups that have taken to the streets to protest. Shah had also praised Deepika Padukone for supporting the Jawahar Lal Nehru University students by attending silent protests in Delhi only a day before her film ‘Chhapaak’ released.
