Article 15 1st day box office collection: Ayushmann Khurana starrer ‘Article 15’ is off to a decent opening, survives ‘Kabir Singh’ storm.
Anubhav Sinha’s film Article 15 has taken a decent opening at the domestic box office. Released on around 1500 screens, the film recorded around 25% occupancy on the first day. This will be considered a good start for a drama film based on a sensitive issue.
Moreover, Article 15 is competing with last week release Kabir Singh which is simply unstoppable at the box office. Article 15 1st day box office collection is 5.02 crores.
The film has received good reviews from the critics. The WOM of the viewers is also positive. Moreover, the presence of a big star Ayushmann has ensured that the film gets a positive start. Without him, the same film would have taken 2-2.5 crore opening.
Like Anubhav Sinha’s last film Mulk, this one also strongly relies on word of mouth. However, the presence of some good names in the star cast ensures that the film witnesses good growth over the weekend.
The budget of Article 15 is around 30 crores. It will be considered a hit if it crosses 40 crores. The film needs to earn around 20 crores in the first weekend to make a chance at the box office.
