Bala 5th Day Collection: Guru Nanak Jayanti Holiday furthers Box Office collections

Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Bala’ fever doesn’t seem to die down anytime soon. The Amar Kaushik film starring Yami Gautam, Bhumi Pednekar, Saurabh Shukla, and Javed Jaffrey managed Rs 52.21 crores in the first four days, 5th day or Gurupurab holiday helped it to cross 60 Crore.

With Rs 43.95 crores collected only during the opening weekend, ‘Bala’ marks Ayushmann’s biggest first-day earning film and also Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Production’s first film with the highest opening weekend collections.

Despite the national unrest due to Babri Masjid-Ram Mandir Supreme Court decision, the film has done fairly well in 4 days of its release. Also, with Tuesday being 550th Prakash Parv of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and a national holiday, the Box Office collections are expected to rise rapidly.

The Box Office collections on Friday closed at 10.15 Cr, Saturday recorded a total of Rs 15.73 crores and Sunday saw the biggest jump to Rs 18.07 crores. Despite being Monday, ‘Bala’ ensured a decent amount of Rs 8.26 crores to its kitty. The film is expected to fetch Rs 75 crore gross by the end of the week because 5th day collection is 9.52 Crore.

The film ‘Bala’ also happens to be Ayushmann’s first-ever release in Saudi Arabia. Releasing on 11 November, it is the only film that has successfully cleared the standards of the censor board in UAE. The Bollywood fans in the Emirates made sure that ‘Bala’ opened at No.1 spot in the UAE.

‘Bala’ has been Ayushmann’s 7th successful film in a row. The star has had a fabulous run at the Box Office in 2019 with ‘Article 15’, ‘Dream Girl’ and now ‘Bala’. As for Jio Productions and Maddock Productions, ‘Bala’ is their third best-performing film of 2019.

Previously, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao starrer ‘Stree’ earned Rs 139.13 crores and Kartik Aryan-Kriti Sanon starrer ‘Lukka Chuppi’ closed at Rs 94.75 crores during their lifetime at the Box Office.
