Ayushmann Khurrana brings home a winner as ‘Bala’ emerges as the 20th Highest Grosser of the Year with Rs 76.00 crores collection. The film received a smashing opening with Rs 42.93 crores collected by the end of Sunday.
The weekday collections also increased with each passing day, thanks to positive word-of-mouth and national holiday observed for 550th Prakash Parv for Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The film recorded a super-successful first week of the release.
The Friday collections recorded were Rs 10.15 crores, Saturday totaled at Rs 15.73 crores and Sunday collections were Rs 18.07 crores. The weekday collections ran as high as Rs 8.26 crores on Monday and Rs 9.52 crores on Tuesday that was declared as a national holiday. The film managed to rake in Rs 5.20 crores on Wednesday and Rs 4.95 crores on Thursday and 3.76 Crore on Friday.
The total stood at a whopping Rs 76.00 crores until Friday. ‘Bala’ is expected to make its way into the 100 crores club during its lifetime. The Box Office run for ‘Bala’ has been impressive so far and they upward rising trend is bound to bring more cash as new releases ‘Marjawaan’ and ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’ have failed to create any buzz at the Box Office.
Milap Zaveri’s ‘Marjawaan’ starring Siddharth Malhotra, Tara Sutaria and Riteish Deshmukh has fallen flat on its face with below-average critic reviews.
The Box Office collection (Marjaavaan) for Day 1 is estimated between Rs 7-9 crores. As ‘Motichoor Chaknachoor’, the movie shall barely see the light of the day owing to bad scriptwriting and non-relatable content. Despite these new releases Bala maintains well at Box Office.
