Released on 15 Aug 2019 alongside Akshay Kumar’s Mission, Batla House had a good opening week at the Indian box office. Directed by Nikkhil Advani and based on Batla House encounter, the film starring John Abraham and Mrunal Thakur opened with positive reviews and appreciation from the viewers.

The film recorded good opening as it earned 15.55 crores despite a big clash with Akshay Kumar’s film. The film scored well in the opening weekend. It collected 8.84 crores, 10.9 crores and 12.54 crores on Friday, Saturday and Sunday respectively to end the first weekend with the collection of 47.99 crores.

After a decent extended opening weekend with the collection of 47.99 crores, the film holds well on weekdays. It earned 5.05 crores, 4.78 crores, 4.5 crores on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday respectively. On the last day of the extended week, the film recorded a small drop in the collections.

The total budget of Batla House including the production, advertising and salary of the star cast is around 75 crores. It will be considered hit if it crosses 90 crore mark. It will be considered average if it crosses 75 crores.

With no big competition till the release of Saaho, Batla House is expected to hold well in its second week. I am expecting the film to earn at least 85 crores in its lifetime.

Directed by Nikkhil Advani, Batla House also stars Mrunal Thakur and Ravi Kishan. It is based on real-life 2008 encounter that took place in Batla House in Jamia Nagar, Delhi. John played the role of ACP Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, who leads the operation.
