Vicky Kaushal starrer horror film ‘Bhoot The Haunted Ship’ had a decent opening weekend at the box office. After an average opening, the film witnessed limited growth over the weekend. However, it still manages to beat the first weekend numbers of 2020 films like Panga and Chhapaak.

The film had an average start as it collected Rs 5.10 crore on Friday. It witnessed limited growth on Saturday (Rs 5.52 crore), owing to mixed reviews. On Sunday (3rd day), the film once again witnessed limited growth. As per early estimates, Bhoot The Haunted Ship 3rd day collection is around Rs 6 crore. The first weekend collection of ‘Bhoot The Haunted Ship’ is around Rs 16.5 crore. A look at the day-wise box office collection of Bhoot The Haunted Ship:

First day collection: Rs 5.10 crore

Second day collection: Rs 5.52 crore

Bhoot The Haunted Ship is Vicky Kaushal’s 3rd highest opening weekend grosser as a solo hero after Uri Surgical Strike and Raazi. Compared to 2020 films, it is the 7th highest opening weekend grosser after Tanhaji, Street dancer 3d, Subha Mangal Zydaa Savdhan, Love Aaj Kal, Malang and Chhappak.

Bhoot clashed with Ayushmann’s Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan. In case of a solo release, Bhoot The Haunted Ship could have performed better at the box office. Ayushmann’s film had a solid opening weekend with the collection of around Rs 32 crore.

Bhoot The Haunted Ship economics

After a decent opening weekend, Vicky Kaushal starrer would be looking for good hold on weekdays. It is a low budget film with the lading cost of around Rs 30 crore (including promotion and advertising). Bhoot The Haunted Ship will be considered a hit if it crosses Rs 45 crore and will be considered average if it crosses Rs 30 crore. Decent hold on weekdays would ensure an average tag for the film.
