Chhapaak Box Office Collection Day 3 or 1st Weekend Report: Deepika Padukone Starrer Chhapaak continues to struggle, collected just Rs 7.35 crore on its third day (Sunday).
Deepika Padukone’s Chhapaak hasn’t been able to meet the expectations as far as box office numbers are concerned. While the trade was expecting Chhapaak to give a tough fight to Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji, it turned out a dull affair at the box office. After an average opening, the film failed to get the desired momentum over the weekend. As per the reports coming, Chhapaak witnessed limited growth (7%) on Sunday. The film collected Rs 7.35 crore on Sunday to end the first weekend with the collection of around Rs 19.02 crore.
#Chhapaak sees day-wise growth, but the weekend trending is good, not great… Collects well at premium multiplexes of urban sectors mainly… Needs to trend well on weekdays for a healthy Week 1 total… Fri 4.77 cr, Sat 6.90 cr, Sun 7.35 cr. Total: ₹ 19.02 cr. #India biz.

Despite appreciation coming in from all quarters, Deepika Padukone‘s hasn’t been able to gain the momentum expecting from it. After an average opening day (Rs 4.97 crore), the film saw limited growth on Saturday (2nd day and collected Rs 6.90 crore. Now, on Sunday, the film once again witnessed limited growth to end the first weekend on an average note.
Chhapaak is a strict multiplex film. As expected, it is not performing well in the mass centres. Another big issue for Chhapaak is that the other release Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior is having a dream run at the box office. It is giving a tough fight to Chhapaak even in high-end multiplexes of Delhi, NCR, Kolkata and Bengaluru. Ajay Devgn starrer collected Rs 62 crore in the first weekend.
Chhapaak is performing well below expectations. The trade was expecting it to earn around Rs 25 crore in the opening weekend.
Chhapaak Budget And Box Office Economics
The estimated budget of Chhapaak including the promotion and advertising costs is Rs 50 crore.
Production cost: Rs 35 crore
Prints & advertising cost: Rs 15 crore
It will be considered a hit if it crosses Rs 60 crore and will be considered average if it crosses Rs 45 crore. The trend over the weekend is a worrying sign for the filmmakers. It would be difficult for the film to sustain on weekdays. Let’s hope for the best.
