Deepika Padukone arrived in Delhi for the promotions of her film ‘Chhapaak’. She was later spotted outside Jawaharlal Nehru Campus as she silently protested against the attack on innocent students.

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone joined the students of Jawaharlal Nehru University as they organized a silent protest in the city. The students of JNU gathered outside the Sabarmati Hostel to silently protest against the masked-goon attack that took place in the campus on Sunday evening. The entire nation has been in a state of shock since the horrifying incident took place in the national capital.

Deepika Padukone, who was in the city to promote her upcoming film ‘Chhapaak’ extended her support and expressed solidarity with the students and teachers.  Deepika even met the prime victim and JNUSU President Aishe Ghosh who suffered major head injuries during the mob-attack. The pictures of the blood-faced President have been doing rounds on the internet.

The Bollywood celebrities like Tapsee Pannu, Dia Mirza, Anurag Kashyap, Vishal Bhardwaj and many others also came out in support of the JNU attack. Last evening saw one of the biggest silent protests organized in Mumbai as celebs and locals gathered to express solidarity with the students attacked in the terrifying incident held on Sunday.

Director Anurag Kashayp became the subject of major Twitter hate and trolling for speaking standing against the government. The Twitterati went on to call him and ISIS terrorist as #AnuragKashyap_ISISTerrorist trended all afternoon. This time Deepika Padukone has also found herself stuck in the middle of a Twitter war. Her fans are divided amongst two groups – One of them supporting her act and the other one accusing her of supporting the violent Tukde Tukde Gang by attending the protests.

At the moment, Twitter is flooded with fan tweets whose hearts are swelling with pride as their star actress didn’t just tweet behind a computer screen. Instead, she physically joined the protests with the students.

On the other hand, some fans are outraged and disgusted by her ‘cheap publicity-hungry behaviour’. Read tweets that urge fan to boycott her upcoming film Chhapaak.
