Devi First Look OUT NOW: Kajol marks her first short film with Shruti Hassan and Neha Dhupia

Kajol dropped a black and white poster of her upcoming short-film with Shruti Hassan, Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Mukta Barve, Sandhya Mhatre, Rama Joshi, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashaswini Dayama. The women-lead story looks intriguing and impressive.

Bollywood actress Kajol’s choice of films has evolved over the years. At one point of time in her career, you would easily spot her in films like ‘Dilagi’, ‘Ishq’ and ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. A few years after tying the knot with beau Ajay Devgn, she took a little break from Hindi cinema only to return with content-driven films like ‘My Name Is Khan’ and ‘Fanaa’. Although she continued to remain a ‘Khan-favorite’, the actress also took up some interesting projects with husband Ajay. She was last seen with Ajay Devgn in ‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’.

Riding high on the success of her last film, Kajol is currently busy shooting for ‘Devi’. Not many of you know but Kajol has fond her new-love in short films like ‘Devi’. The women-only lead film features the stories of nine troubled women who’re navigating through their lives with oppression. These nine extra-ordinary women refuse to give-up, tear-down or are budged by any of the societal tabboos.

Kajol shared the first poster of the short-film featuring the nine lady warriors Kajol, Shruti Hassan, Neha Dhupia, Neena Kulkarni, Mukta Barve, Sandhya Mhatre, Rama Joshi, Shivani Raghuvanshi, and Yashaswini Dayama. The black and white poster with Devi written on top in deep red looks thrilling and spine-chilling. The actress shared the poster with a tweet that was later re-tweeted by her co-star Neha Dhupia.

In the poster, the actresses have mixed expressions of hurt, anger, rage and revenge. They look untamable and unbeatable at the same time. From the looks of the poster, the film seems interesting for those who’re into women-centric drama. It is quite evident that Kajol and her devis are ready to battle out any challenges on their journey to societal acceptance and freedom. Made in just two days, Devi is written and directed by debutant Priyanka Banerjee for Large Short Films. The project has been bankrolled by Niranjan lyengar and Ryan Stephen’s Electric Apples Entertainment.
