Zareen Khan reveals that a certain director wanted to ‘rehearse a kissing scene’ when she was relatively new in the industry.
The beautiful actress Zareen Khan made waves in Bollywood when she made her debut with Salman Khan in his film ‘Veer’. She sure made heads turn and left male fans chasing for breath. While her sharp features and screen presence made an impact, it was her struggle with weight that hindered her career in Bollywood. She talked about being bullied for being over-weight and curvy because her contemporaries were chasing size 0 figure.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Zareen Khan opened up about her bitter casting couch experiences where directors would go to any length to get her to bed. Casting couch has plagued the Bollywood industry for as long as we can remember. The likes of Kalki Koechlin, Tanushree Dutta, Vidya Balan and Radhika Apte have openly talked about their appalling experiences with the casting couch.
Zareen went on to reveal that a certain director wanted her to ‘rehearse kissing scene’ with him so that she could perfect it before the actual shoot. She called his words, ‘you have to let go of your inhibitions, you have to let go of inhibitions,’ and that time I was relatively very new,”
Another famous director wanted to be ‘more than friends’ with her as she was new in the industry and could use some additional support. He also said that “specifically look into the projects you’re getting” if she agreed to his offer.
She also talked about how her looks were compared to Katrina Kaif, fat-shaming and weight issues. She shed some light on what life was like before landing her first Bollywood film.
