Go Goa Gone 2: Saif Ali Khan’s zombie-comedy release date confirmed

Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu and Vira Das set to come together for Go Goa Gone 22. The sequel of 2013 hit zombie-comedy will release in theaters in March 2021.

It is raining sequels at the Box Office. After Satte Pe Satta 2, Sooryavanshi, Golmaal 6 comes ‘Go Goa Gone 2’. India’s first zom-com that shows life after a zombie apocalypse is all set to get a sequel. As the fits film ended on an open-note, the sequel will pick things up from the same scene.  The second installment is set to hit the silver screens in March 2021.

The Maddock Entertainment official handle tweeted about the announcement this morning. Talking about the film Maddock’s Dinesh Vijan said, “It’s been quite a journey from 2013, and I’m so excited we’re back again with this crazy ride! Go Goa Gone redefined many things, and we are gunning to do that again. The characters have stayed with us all this while, and we are thrilled to bring them back to life!” Go Goa Gone 2 will be produced by Dinesh Vijan, Saif Ali Khan and Sunil Lulla of Eros International.

Talking about the film, Sunil Lulla said that Go Goa Gone 2 has had immense recall value which has helped the film attain cult status over the years. He also expressed his excitement on working with long-lost partner Dinesh Vijan. The makers have decided to move past Goa to shoot certain scenes of the film that is largely based in Goa. As per reports, the final draft is ready and should be ready to roll out by September 2020.

The first film was directed by Indian-American film directors Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK. The first film had Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu, Vir Das, Anand Tiwari and Puja Gupta. This time, however, the makers have so far revealed only three cast members playing characters of Boris, Hardik and Luv essayed by Saif Ali Khan, Kunal Kemmu and Viras Das respectively.
