If recent reports are to be believed then Hrithik Roshan might end up playing Amitabh Bachchan’s role in Satte Pe Satta remake.
Last week, it was reported that Shahrukh Khan has finally signed his next after the debacle of Zero. The film in question is a remake of Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer cult classic Satte Pe Satta. The remake is said to be produced by Rohit Shetty and directed by Farah Khan. However, it seems that there is a twist in the tale.
It seems that Shahrukh was never approached for the film. The report in Pinkvilla states that not Shahrukh but Hrithik Roshan is the first choice to play Big B in Satte Pe Satta remake.
The source quoted, “Farah has already discussed the idea with Hrithik Roshan, who has also given a verbal nod to the project. Farah has reworked the whole script and designed it to suit the current times. They needed a superstar who would command the same screen presence as Big B and Hrithik was their first choice. Farah and Hrithik have been friends for decades now, so he immediately heard the story and signed it on verbal lines.”
On being asked about other actors whose names have been associated with the film, the source said, “They didn’t want someone too old or too young for this movie. The hero has to look the eldest of the lot and still not too old for marriage. They wanted someone in their 40s as the role would fit them perfectly. In fact, even Amit ji was 40 when Satte Pe Satta released,” reports Pinkvilla.
Meanwhile, Hrithik will soon start the promotion of his next titled Super 30. It will be Hrithik’s first movie after Kaabil (Jan 2017). The Greek God of Bollywood will also star in YRF’s action film Fighters which also features Tiger Shroff.
