Kaabil Flops In China: Hrithik Roshan’s last release Kaabil was an average performer at the Indian box office. Now, the movie has also flopped in China.
Things are definitely not going good for Hrithik Roshan. The actor hasn’t had any release in the last 2.5 years. The trailer of his upcoming movie Super 30 has received a poor response. In fact, it has become a laughing stock on social media owing to Hrithik’s accent in the film.
If this isn’t enough, Hrithik’s Kaabil has opened to terrible response in China, which has become a big market for the Indian films in recent past. China has emerged as one of the profitable markets for Bollywood as films Dangal, Hindi Medium, Secret Superstar, Andhadhun have done exceedingly well in the country.
The success of these films has tempted the filmmakers for renewed success in the new market. However, it is too be noted that not all Bollywood released in China have emerged successful. Kaabil is one of them.
Trade expert Taran Adarsh tweeted about the box office failure of the film. Adarsh tweeted:
#Kaabil is having a terrible run in #China… Continues to underperform… No improvement or growth in biz… Wed $ 0.48 mn, Thu $ 0.66 mn, Fri $ 0.69 mn. Total: $ 2 million [₹ 13.87 cr]. Includes previews held earlier.

The failure of Kaabil is not a big surprise. The marketing and research team of the film has failed big time. They should have realized that average suspense thriller films are common in China and Korea.
If we look at the list of most successful Bollywood films in China then either they are based on values (Dangal, Secret Superstar, Hindi Medium) or have some Indianness in them (Hichki, Toilet- Ek Prem Katha).
