Thalaivi: Kangana Ranaut as Jayalalithaa Impress the Audiences Beyond Measure

Kangana’s sister Rangoli Chandel took to Twitter to share the first look of Kangana as the late CM Jayalalithaa in ‘Thalaivi’. The first look was followed by the teaser of the film showcasing how Kangana got into the skin of the character.

According to reports, Hollywood’s most talented prosthetic artist Jason Collins had been roped in to give Kangana a spitting image of the late CM J Jayalalithaa. Jason has films like ‘Blade Runner’ and ‘Captain Marvel’ to his name. The first look has already gone viral on social media with fans pouring in love and praises for her epic portrayal.

While some trollers seem to have a funny angle to Kangana’s look as Jayalalithaa. The haters called her out for ‘looking fake’ and ‘wearing 1-kg make up on her face’. However, this doesn’t take away from the fact that Kangana truly does look like CM J Jayalalithaa.

The first poster shows a cut out of Kangana Ranaut in Jayalalithaa avatar. The poster doesn’t come as a surprise because exactly sam kind fo posters used to be put up during Jayalalithaa’s time as the Chief Minister.

The poster sees her donning a bottle green-coloured saree with matching overcoat and a bindi adorning her forehead. Even with the heavy prosthetics, Kangana manages to exude the Jayalalithaa vibes with the strong-lady-with-a-soft-smile look.

The 1:32 minutes teaser of the film shows Kangana Ranaut break into an iconic dance scene from 1995 film ‘Vennira Aadai’. As the camera spans 180 degrees, she transforms into the CM J Jayalalithaa who is seen waving the victory sign to the loud, cheering crowd in a rally.

As per popular opinion, Kangana will be seen in four different looks that will bring to light Jayalalithaa’s changing features as she graduated from being a popular actress to the Chief Minister. ‘Thalaivi’ will be responsible for unfolding the story of a superstar heroine turned revolutionary hero.

Directed by Vijay, ‘Thalaivi’ is slated to hit the theatre screens on 26 June 2020.  The film will be simultaneously shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The film also stars ‘Roja’ actor Arvind Swamy. Kangana was last seen in ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ with Rajkumar Rao. Next, she will star in ‘Panga’, a sports drama film directed by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Fox Star Studios.

We have to give it to Kangana Ranaut for being the powerhouse of talent that she is. Right from her portrayal of a raging lover in ‘Gangster’ to free-spirited ‘Rani’ in ‘Queen’; Kangana has set the bar for actresses trying to make it big in Bollywood.

She’s been taking Tamil and Telugu lessons to perfect her role of Jayalalithaa in the iconic film. She also took Bharatnatyam dance lessons, videos of which have already gone viral on the internet.
