Lata Mangeshkar on life-support, admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on 11 November

Ace singer Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai at 1:30 am last night. She was rushed to the hospital after she complained about breathlessness.

It was later discovered that she’s battling serious left ventricular infection along with Pneumonia The beautiful singer had to be put on life-support through the night.

The doctors at Breach Candy Hospital reported that Lata Mangeshkar was suffering from viral chest congestion and given her age, she had to be kept under hospital care as a precautionary measure.

The doctors explained that since the left ventricle supplies most of the blood to the body, its failure has abruptly stopped the normal pumping of blood. This disruption has lead to over-exertion of pressure on the left side of the heart.

As of now, the 90-year-old singer is out of danger but her health continues to remain critical. Lata’s sister, singer Usha claimed that Lata Mangeshkar is in the hospital but she is recovering well and should be coming home soon.

The entire Bollywood industry has come out in support of the legendary singer. Right from veteran actress Shabana Azmi to Hema Malini and singer Adnan Sami to Poonam Dhillon every one is sharing their concerns and best recovery wishes for Lata ji. Some of them shared their get well soon wishes on the micro-blogging site.

The legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar has lent her melancholic voice to over 120 beautiful songs in the Hindi and Marathi music industry. ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’, ‘Zindagi Ki Na Toote Laadi’ and ‘Pairon Me Bandhan Hai’ are some of many memorable songs from the Bollywood films. The singer was also titled as the ‘Nightingale of Bollywood’.

The singer has been honoured with awards like Dada Saheb Phalke Award, Bharat Ratna, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. She also has many more Filmfare, IIFA and National Awards into her kitty for the melodious voice she’s lent to some of the most iconic songs ever produced in the Hindi music industry. Guinness Book of Records ranked her as the most recorded artiste in history. She had sung over 25,000 songs between 1948 and 1974.
