Malang 1st day Box Office collection: Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani Starrer Malang Is Off To A Good Start, Estimated To Earn Around Rs 6 Crore On Day 1.
As expected, Aditya Roy Kapur and Disha Patani starrer ‘Malang’ took a good start at the box office. The film recorded around 20% opening in the morning shows. This is a fair start for a film which has no big names. The opening is good mainly due to the high pre-release buzz.
Mohit Suri’s directional is getting mixed reviews from the critics. However, the average rating suggests that film has a definite chance at the box office. The audience reactions are yet awaited and the actual picture will get clearer only after that.
Even if the reviews are mixed, Malang business will see a good jump in the evening and night shows. The film is released on around 2200 screens. We expected, Malang 1st day box office collection would be around Rs 6-7 crore and it’s 6.71 Crore. The final numbers may be a bit higher depending on the growth in the second half of the day.
#Malang is decent on Day 1… Should’ve grossed higher given its genre… National multiplexes contribute 50%+ of Day 1 biz… Mass circuits low… Needs to show more than normal jump on Day 2, though biz in #Delhi will be limited… Fri ₹ 6.71 cr. #India biz.

After a good opening, Malang would be hoping to consolidate at the box office in the coming days. The competition is low as holdover releases have exhausted their box office run. There are no takers for new releases like Hacked and Shikara. So, Malang has a good chance to make big money in the first week.
Coming to the economics, the budget of Malang is around Rs 60 crore. In order to become a box office hit, it needs cross Rs 70 crore mark. Crossing this number wouldn’t be an easy task for the film.
