‘Marjaavaan’ had performed well enough so far with Box Office collections worth Rs 44.71 crores. However, the film business dropped to Rs 0.70 crores on the 12th day of its release. The Sidharth-Ritiesh starrer is likely to miss the 50-crore mark during its lifetime at the Box Office.
Milap Milan Zaveri’s action-drama ‘Marjaaavaan’ starring his favorite duo Sidharth-Ritiesh has failed to weave magic in its second week at the Box Office. The film released on 15 November started off on a good note with opening day collections worth Rs 7.03 crores.
The first-week collection stood at Rs 36.96 crores; out of which Rs 24.03 crores were earned on the weekend and Rs 13.15 crores on weekdays. The second weekend at the Box Office added another Rs 5.21 crores.
The collections dropped severely on second Monday, only totalling up to Rs 0.80 crores. The 12th-day collections added Rs 0.70 crores to the total earnings of Rs 44.42 crores. According to the estimates, ‘Marjaavaan’ overall occupancy rate approximated as 8 to 9% on the second Monday that is 25th November.
‘Marjaavaan’ also stars ‘SOTY 2’ actress Tara Sutaria as a mute girl who plays Sidharth’s love interest in the film. The film that was touted to be as good as 2014 superhit ‘Ek Villain’ only broke-even at the Box Office. Despite great star cast and Milap’s excellent direction, the film failed to impress the audiences in metro cities. However, it appealed to the masses in single screens and smaller multiplexes in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities.
The poor collections in the second-week can be credited to the release of Disney’s ‘Frozen 2’. Priyanka Chopra and Parineeti Chopra have dubbed for the Hindi version of the film which is performing quite well at the Box Office. Released alongside ‘Frozen 2’, John Abraham’s ensemble cast comedy film ‘Pagalpanti’ also tanked at the Box office.
