Milap Milan Zaveri’s ‘Marjaavaan’ scores well at the Box Office with an opening weekend collection of Rs 24.42 crores. The film starring Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria has fared well at the Box Office on first the Monday and Tuesday.
The action-thriller film, ‘Marjaavaan’ opened at Rs 7 crores on Friday. The film went on to collect another whopping Rs 7 crores on Saturday but the severe jump to Rs 10.18 crores on Sunday.
The Monday collections dropped to Rs 4.15 crores which is 40% downfall from the weekend collections. This slight drop has put the film in the ‘hits’ category this year. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted that the film has found it’s right audience in single screens and smaller multiplexes in Tier 2/3 cities. The metro city multiplexes continue to remain half-filled.
‘Marjaavaan’ is cashing in on the popularity of the ‘Ek Villain Duo’ Sidharth Malhotra and Riteish Deshmukh. The actors drew out a fantastic performance in the action thriller which has sort of benefited ‘Marjaavan’ collections.

The film also stars ‘Student Of The Year 2’ actress Tara Sutaria in a leading role where essays the role of Raghu’s (Sidharth) deaf and dumb lover. On the other hand, Riteish plays the 3-feet-tall antagonist who cannot control his rage against Sidharth, who has become his Mafia father’s right hand.
We believe ‘Marjaavan’ could have performed well or collected more at the Box Office had it not faced stiff competition from National Award Winner Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Bala’. ‘Bala’ released in theaters on November, a week before ‘Marjaavaan’ but still continues to stay strong. The Amar Kaushik film Bala will soon enter the 100 crore club.
