Marjaavaan Trailer: Riteish Deshmukh stands out as a dreadful villain

Marjaavaan trailer shows love, rage, hatred, animosity and vengeance in three minutes and fifteen seconds of average cinematography, editing and dialogues.

A film which is touted to be the sequel to ‘Ek Villain’ (2014) doesn’t quite well live up to the expectations of the audience. It stars Sidharth Malhotra, Riteish Deshmukh and Tara Sutaria in the lead roles. The film comes from the makers of ‘Satyamev Jayate’, ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Aashiqui 2’.

The project is helmed by Milap Milan Zaveri, under the production houses of Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series.
The trailer reveals glimpses of Sidharth and Tara’s love story which will meet a dreaded end. As usual, Sidharth loses his charm somewhere in the middle of the trailer. We’re left wondering whether it’s his average acting skills or the poor dialogues, but something about his performance seems off.

Just one dialogue worthy of a mention is – ‘Bagaavat ke liye ijaazat ki zarurat nahi, rok sake humko tum do kutto me wo taakat nahi’ that made us laugh a little instead of scarring. The trailer showcases Tara Sutaria’s desi girl next door avatar in the most obvious style.

Fragile girl falls for ‘Gunda’ then a bigger ‘Gunda’ falls in love with her. It seems like a dangerous love triangle for all those involved.

We have to give it to Riteish Deshmukh for catching our fleeting attention with his little chant of ‘Teri Galliyan’ song from ‘Ek Villain’. Even though he is projected as a 3-feet dwarf, he still manages to look fierce and ignite a little ray of hope during the 3-minute long ordeal.

Right from his hair Lal Tika and frightening look – He has it all perfected, unlike Sidharth who looks like he forgot something on the kitchen stove.

The film will release on 8 November 2019. Are you excited?
