Pagalpanti Day 4 Box Office Collection – John starrer manages only 20 crores so far

John Abraham and his comic clan fail miserably at the Box Office. ‘Pagalpanti’, a story about 3 young men who set out on a mission to rob some robbers off their money manages to mint barely Rs 20 crores at the Box Office.

John Abraham returned to the comic genre with a stellar cast but ‘Pagalpanti’ has only disappointed the audiences. The film stars Arshad Warsi, Anil Kapoor, Pulkit Samrat, Urvashi Rautela, Kirti Kharbanda and Ileana D’Cruz. The ensemble cast in a comedy film formula seemed to have worked against the film rather than in favour of it.

According to a report by Box Office India, ‘Pagalpanti’ opened to collections of Rs 5 crore at the Box Office. The Saturday collections increased to Rs 6.25 crores but the numbers didn’t look so nice on Sunday. ‘Pagalpanti’ collections for Sunday added up to 8 crores. The film had a poor opening at the Box Office collecting approximately Rs 20 crores.

The occupancy rate dropped further by 50%, closing at Rs 4 crores worth of collections on Monday. It seems the film that looked good on paper didn’t translate so well in on-screen. If the downward curve for ‘Pagalpanti’ continues, it will barely cross the 40 crore mark in its lifetime.

It is safe to say that ‘Pagalpanti’ is a guaranteed Box Office dud of 2019. The Anees Bazmee directed has been called out for outrageous dialogues and weak storyline. Besides, Disney’s ‘Frozen 2’ with dubbed voices of Chopra sisters has also lead to the downfall of ‘Pagalpanti’. The Friday collections of ‘Frozen 2’ were much lesser than ‘Pagalpanti but Saturday collections proved otherwise.  Both films released in theatres on 22 November.

Even though the ‘Race 2’ star is much loved in his action films, the fans were easer to see him make a return to the comedy scene. John Abraham is known for his great comic timing in films like ‘Garam Masala’, ‘Welcome’ and ‘Housefull’ franchise.

‘Pagalpati’ is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Abhishek Pathak, Krishan Kumar & Kumar Mangat under the banner of Panorama Studios & T-Series Super Cassettes Industries Ltd.
