Panga Box Office Collection Day 1: Kangana Ranaut’s Panga is off to a decent start, estimated to collect around Rs 4.5 crore on day 1.
Kangana Ranaut’s latest release Panga is off to a pretty good opening at the box office. Released on 1450 screens, Panga is clashing with Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Street Dancer 3D. While Street Dancer 3D is a big-budget film, Panga is a small budget product with the landing cost of around Rs 30 crore.
Talking about Panga 1st day collection, the film got off to a slow start in the morning shows. It recorded around 10% occupancy in the morning shows. However, as positive reviews and word of mouth started to spread, the business saw good growth in the latter half of the day. The occupancy in the evening shows was as good as 30%.
With good hold in the night shows, Panga 1st day box office collection is Rs 2.7 crore. This is a pretty positive start for a film which is competing with commercial biggies like Street Dancer 3D and Tanhaji. Panga will definitely see good growth in the collections over the weekend. I am expecting it to cross Rs 20 crore mark by Sunday.
Panga is one of those films which can play a long inning at the box office owing to positive word of mouth. It reminds me of films like Queen, Badhaai Ho, Bareilly Ki Barfi. Positive word of mouth can do wonders for this Kangana Ranaut starrer.
