Panipat 1st day box office collection: Ashutosh Gowarlikar’s epic war drama Panipat is off to slow start, expected to witness good growth.
As predicted by us, historical drama film Panipat is off to an ordinary start at the domestic box office. The film was always expected to open low as the pre-release buzz was low and the trailer failed to make much impact. Panipat recorded just 10% occupancy in the morning shows, which is very low for a big-budget film.
Panipat is released on around 2000 screens in India and 350 screens in the overseas. It has garnered good reviews from critics. Most of the critics have rated it one of the best historical movies of Bollywood. In fact, most of the critics have rated it 3+.
Panipat day 1 collection
#Panipat records low numbers on Day 1… Reports [word of mouth] are positive and its biz, hopefully, should see a turnaround on Day 2 and 3… Fri ₹ 4.12 cr [2395 screens]. #India biz… Showcasing at multiplexes affected due to excessive run time [close to 3 hours].

We predicted the first-day collection to be in the range of Rs 5-6 crore. However, the film has opened below our expectations. Well, the good news for the makers is that the film has received appreciation from critics. People on social media are also appreciating the film. This appreciation can convert into big box office numbers in the coming days.
