Panipat 3rd day box office collection: Despite positive reviews, Panipat failed at the box office and collected around Rs 18 crore in the first weekend.
Ashutosh Gowariker’s epic war-drama Panipat is struggling at the box office. Despite positive WOM and good reviews, it failed to get the desired momentum to end the first weekend on a poor note. The damage was done on the first day itself as the film got off to a very low opening (Rs 4.12 crore). It witnessed limited growth in the business on Saturday (Rs 5.78 crore).
Talking about the third day (Sunday) collection of Panipat, the film witnessed around 30% growth in the numbers compared to Saturday. As per early estimates, Panipat 3rd day box office collection is around Rs 8 crore. The first weekend total of the film stands at around Rs 18 crore.
#Panipat showed an upward graph on Day 2 and 3, but the 3-day total remains extremely low… Biz-wise, #Maharashtra [#Mumbai, #CP, #Nizam circuits] leads, North and East very poor… Weekdays crucial… Fri 4.12 cr, Sat 5.78 cr, Sun 7.78 cr. Total: ₹ 17.68 cr. #India biz.

The business of the film grows on Saturday and Sunday. On both days, the growth was more than Pati Patni Aur Woh but that is probably because the opening day was too low. With no chances of revival, Panipat is expected to be a big box office flop. Panipat turned out to be one of those films which flopped because of poor face value and trailer. It lost half of the battle even before release.
Despite good growth over the weekend, Panipat has no chance as the opening was too low for a big-budget film. It is performing well in Mumbai circuit. But, there are no takers in the north Indian circuits.
Panipat is a grand film. Its budget is around Rs 100 crore including the promotion and advertising cost. It needs to earn at least Rs 120 crore to be in a safe zone for the makers. It will be considered hit if it crosses Rs 160 crore mark. Panipat will be a big flop with the lifetime collection of less than Rs 50 crore. Another box office flop for Arjun Kapoor.
