Ranbir Kapor has no release this year, only ‘Brahmastra’ in 2020

Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra is taking more time than expected. Scheduled to release in 2019, the film has been delayed many times.

Last seen in blockbuster Sanju, Ranbir Kapoor has just two movies in his kitty. He has no release in 2019 and it is definitely not a good sign for an actor who has struggled for a big hit before Sanju.

The two projects, which Ranbir is currently committed to, Brahmastra and Shamshera are taking more than expected time to complete. There have been multiple changes in the release date of these two films. Ranbir fans should be more concerned about Brahmastra which has been in making for almost two years now.

In fact, the shooting of Bharmastra is still not complete and therefore, Ranbir might have to borrow some dates from the schedule of Shahshera. Brahmastra is produced by Karan Johar while Shamshera is a dacoit drama film produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films.

According to a report in Bollywood Hungama, Karan Johar has requested Aditya Chopra for additional dates and that the latter has agreed. A source in the report has been quoted as saying, “Ranbir’s dates for Shamshera were supposed to start after the completion of Brahmastra. But it seems Ayan requires more of Ranbir’s dates. Karan requested Aditya for more time and Adi agreed. Shamshera will now be completed in 2021.”

Brahmastra is taking more time than usual and the fans are losing interest in it. The release date of the film has been postponed multiple time and this will definitely impact it at the box office. Directed by Ayan Mukherjee, Brahmastra is a fantasy romance drama that also Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and others. The film is expected to hit the big screens next year in Summer.

Shamshera, on the other hand, is a dacoit drama to be directed by Karan Malhotra. The film also features Sanjay Dutt and Vaani Kapoor in the lead roles. It is scheduled to hit the screens on July 30 next year. But with more delay,  it might not release before 2021.
