Satyamev Jayate 2 First Look: John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar look convincing as ‘deshbhakts’

Leading actors, John Abraham and Divya Khosla Kumar released the first look of their film on social media this morning. Directed by Milap Zaveri, ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’ is slated to release on 2 October 2020.

John Abraham is back with the sequel of his 2018 super-hit movie, ‘Satyamev Jayate’. The second edition of the franchise features John Abraham as a vigilante who goes after every cop who’s found or accused of corruption.

His character doesn’t take a big leap from the last edition. However, this time he will be joined by Producer-turned-actress Divya Kholsa Kumar who also published the film poster on her social media channels.

In the poster, John is seen tearing apart his khaakhi vardi only to reveal the national Indian flag painted on his chiselled torso. He looks fierce, raging and unstoppable. The poster reads ‘Tann, mann, dhann se badhkar. Jann, gann, mann’ – A tagline that is significant to the plot of the film.

Divya is seen dressed in a white kurta-pyjama suit with a tri-color dupatta around her neck. Interestingly, the dupatta forms the shape of the map of India.

Divya Khosla Kumar is returning to Bollywood after 15 years with Milap Zaveri directed, ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’. She made her debut with ‘Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyo’. She also turned director for college-love drama film ‘Yaariyan’ (2014) and ‘Sanam Re’ (2016).

Just like her husband Bhushan Kumar, Divay is also a Bollywood producer having produced films like ‘Roy’ (2015), ‘Khaandani Shafakhana’ (2019’, ‘Batla House’ (2019) and upcoming flick ‘Marjavaan’ (2019).

It was earlier speculated that the film would release on Independence Day 2020. However, the official announcement confirmed that ‘Satyamev Jayate 2’ will release on the 2 October 2020, the birthday of Mahatama Gandhi – The Father of the Nation.

The film will not have a solo release as three other big-budgeted films like Udham Singh Biopic, ‘Rambo’ and ‘Toofan’ will hit the cinemas screen on the very same day.
