Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh is all set to hit the big screens on Friday. The film has received ‘A’ certificate from CBFC.

Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s ‘Kabir Singh’ is one of the most awaited movies of the year. With just a few days left for the release, the film has been passed by CBFC and it has received an ‘A’ certificate.

‘Kabir Singh’ is a remake of a South blockbuster ‘Arjun Reddy’ that starred Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey. It also received ‘A’ certificate from the board. Despite receiving an ‘A’ certificate, Arjun Reddy became a blockbuster hit at the box office.

Talking about ‘Kabir Singh’ getting an ‘A’ certificate, the producer, Murad Khetani said, “It is not a film for a family audience and kids. So, I don’t think it will make much difference. Arjun Reddy was such a cult film. So, we didn’t want to tamper the film for getting the U/A certificate. So, we have retained the essence of the film.”

The run time of Kabir Singh is also equal to Arjun Reddy. While Arjun Reddy was of 186 minutes, Kabir Singh’s run time is around 3 hours. It would be interesting to see if the youth could accept a 3-hour film in the era where 90% of films have a run time of around 2 hours.

The anticipation for the film is high ever since the release of its teaser. The trailer also received positive response while the songs have also clicked with the youth.

Kabir Singh is directed by Sandeep Vanga who also directed the original one. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Murad Khetani, Krishan Kumar and Ashwin Varde, the film is set to release on June 21.
