Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar on Bollywood’s hypocrisy ‘Pahle hum apne duality ko sudhare’

Veteran Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar took to Twitter to share his piece of mind after the Telangana rape case. He asks Bollywood fraternity to keep their ‘filmy ethics’ in check.

The Priyanka Reddy gang rape case has irked every Indian citizen. Whether it is the regular ‘aam janta’ or the VIPs, Bollywood celebrities or cricketers; everyone is talking about the Telangana gang rae case.

The who’s who of Bollywood fraternity took to Twitter to share their angst, disgust and rage as they condemned the gruesome rape. Right from Farhan Akhtar to Salman Khan; Shoojit Sircar to Anupam Kher each one of Bollywood’s names protested on social media.

The director of films like ‘Piku’ (2015), ‘Pink’ (2016) and ‘Vicky Donor’ (2012), Shoojit Sircar also shared his words on Twitter. The tweet seemed more like a jibe at any of the Bollywood celebrities. Whether it’s true or not, the Twitterati sure had a laugh.

He called out the Bollywood folks for their hypocrisy and double-standards. The director also pleaded them to only share lectures about morality when their filmy ethics re in great shape. True or not, the director took a great stand against the over-sexualisation of films these days.
