CAA Protests: Siddhant Chaturvedi says suppressing youth is not a ‘good thing’

Siddhant Chaturvedi aka MC Sher from ‘Gully Boy’ has finally opened up on the ongoing CAA protest all over India, now he will like to be called Buntry because of his upcoming film Bunty Babli 2. He said he was ‘so low’ to voice his opinion on social media.

The CAA protests and the police crackdown that took place at Jamia Milia Islamia University have shaken the entire nation. The whole of India is protesting as reports of 700+ university students taking to the streets came out earlier this week. India is standing tall against Modi government, police department and CAA & NRC laws.

Owing to the gravity of the situation, some famous Bollywood celebrities have joined the protests on ground and social media. Actors like Bhumi Pednekar, Ayushmann Khurrana, Siddharth Malhotra, Parineeti Chopra, Riteish Deshmukh, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Richa Chaddha and many others have shared their two cents on the newly passed bill. Director Zoya Akhtar along with brother Farhan Akhtar also joined the Mumbai protests held at August Kranti Maidan on Thursday.

‘Gully Boy’ star became the latest entrant in the group of Bollywood celebs to speak against the CAA matters. During an interview, Siddhant said that he had made announcements regarding the graving matters but didn’t resort to social media as he was ‘too low’ looking at whatever was happening around. He said that he was quite disturbed so he even posted his ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ announcement late in the evening.

He also added that suppressing the voice of youth is not a good thing. We have the highest youth population in the world so we must have the right to voice our opinions. He said the voice of youth will drive the future of India. He said, he’s been in a low space right now and not even excited about his upcoming film. Once things go back to normal, we should be able to see the star-making merry.

Amidst all the chaos, the news of Siddhant’s latest film ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’ came out. The film is the sequel of 2007 super-hit ‘Bunty Aur Babli’ from Yash Raj Films. Siddhant will be seen romancing newbie Sharvari Wagh. The film is slated to go on floors in early 2020 with an expectant cameo role by Saif Ali Khan.
