The 26th Star Screen Awards were held in Mumbai on 8 December 2019. In attendance were Bollywood film stars like Deepika Padukone, Ayushmann Khurrana, Kartik Aryan and Hrithik Roshan.
The 26th Star Screen Awards were a glitzy affair with top Bollywood stars gracing the red carpet. The who’s who of tinsel town attended the awards ceremony and definitely set the style quotient too high.
Held in Mumbai, the event was graced by the likes of Sara Ali Khan, Ranveer Singh, Shahid Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, Yami Gautam, Kriti Sanon, Taapsee Pannu and many more sizzling beauties. Bollywood’s current favorite newbies Ananya Pandey and Kiara Advani too attended the event looking all poised and glam.
The Star Screen Awards 2019 saw actor RRanveer Singh and Alia Bhatt took home the Best Actor Award (Male & Female) for stellar performances critically acclaimed ‘Gully Boy’. The Zoya Akhtar film also won the Best Film of the year award at the ceremony. Super talented director Zoya Akhtar also took home the Best Director (Popular) award for the same film.
The sensational star Sara Ali Khan brought home the Most Promising Actor (Female) for her debut film, ‘Kedarnath’ with Sushant Singh Rajput. Released earier this year, ‘Article 15’ won Best Film Critics Choice award and Ayushmann Khurrana got the actor a Best Actor Critics Choice (Male) award.
Director Anubhav Sinha bagged the Best Director Critics Choice award for ‘Article 15’ which also got the Best Story award. Best Actor Critics Choice (Female) award was jointly shared by ‘shooter dadis’ Taapsee Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar for ‘Saand Ki Aankh’. Best comic Actor (Female) was presented to Yami gautam for her excellent performance in ‘Baala’.

Surprisingly, the winners list is dominated by films like Gully Boy and Article 15, that were both based on real-life stories. Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Gully Boy’ also happens to be India’s official entry to the Oscar Awards too. The awards night saw most of the stars dressed in black and white attires. Sequins, glitter, shimmer and all things shiny constituted the ‘star look’ of the night for most of them. Shahid Kapoor looked his usual breathtaking self in a Zebra print suit with black shirt and formal shoes to match. Alia Bhatt looked like breath of fresh air dressed in a simple muted color saree with hair tied in sleek bun and jhumkas to match. Other actresses opted for ultra-sexy gowns with slits and cuts that could kill.

The beautiful night of cinematic excellence and glamour saw entertaining performances by Sara Ali Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Nora Fatehi. The ever-energetic Ranveer Singh and wife Deepika Padukone were joined on stage by ‘Pati, Patni Aur Woh’ stars Kartik Aryan and Ananya Pandey who together danced to ‘Dheeme Dheeme’.
Another fun trio including ‘Simmba’ star Sara Ali Khan, Kartik Aryan and Shahid Kapoor did some dirty-dancing on ‘Aankh Maarey’ from Rohit Shetty’s ‘Simmba’.
