Street Dancer Box Office Collection Day 2: After an average opening day, Varun Dhawan’s Street Dancer 3D saw good growth on Saturday (2nd day).
Street Dancer 3D 2nd day box office collection: Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer ‘Street Dancer 3D’ witnessed good growth in the collection on Saturday. As per early estimates, the film saw good growth of 30% as it collected around Rs 13 crore on its second day. Although the growth is good we need to consider that the opening was below expectations.
The total collection of the film after two days is around Rs 23.5 crore. The number is strictly average for a film whose budget is around Rs 100 crore. Now, Street Dancer 3D would be hoping for a big boost on Sunday as it is a Republic Day. It is a big advantage for the film as the collection would be more than a normal Sunday. Ideally, the film would be hoping to cross Rs 40 crore mark in the first weekend.
So far, Street Dancer 3D has under-performed at the box office. Trade experts were expecting a Rs 15 crore opening. The film is under-performing mainly due to two reasons. First, the word of mouth is mixed and the audience hasn’t really liked the film. Secondly, Ajay Devgn’s Tanhaji is posting big competition, especially in the Mumbai circuit. Tanhaji on its 16th day collected Rs 9 crore that too on just 2000 screens.
Now, the big question is, will Street Dancer 3D emerge a box office hit? Well, the trend is not in favour of the film. The budget is Rs 100 crore. It needs to cross Rs 100 crore mark to be a box office hit. Even if the film collects Rs 40+ crore in the opening weekend, it has to perform exceptionally well on weekdays. Generally, films like Street Dancer 3D drops big on first Monday of the word is not positive.
