Street Dancer Box Office Prediction: Things Not Looking Good For Varun-Dhawan Starrer

Street Dancer is the third film of famous dance film series ABCD. ABCD and ABCD 2 were super hit at the box office.

After the debacle of Race 3, director Remo D’Souza is back to the basics. After the success of ABCD and ABCD 2, Remo is back with the third instalment of the franchise. Titled Street Dancer, the film is being taunted as the biggest dance film of all time. Now the question is, will Street Dancer work at the box office? Well, let’s find out.

Before predicting the box office prospects of the film, let me tell you that Street Dancer is a mega-budget film. The total cost of production is around Rs 100 crore. With around Rs 20 crore spent on advertising and marketing, the total budget of the film stands at Rs 120 crore.

The things are not looking great for Varun Dhawan and Shraddha Kapoor starrer. First, the trailer of the film hasn’t received a desired response from the viewers. Secondly, despite top-level promotions, the film failed to create much pre-release buzz.

Positives with the film

1) Sequel factor: Will provide the initials to the film.

2) Varun Dhawan, Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi’s young fan-following will help the film in metros and multiplexes.

3) Patriotic angle: The story explores a dance competition between Indian and Pakistani dancers.

Street Dancer is produced by Bhushan Kumar. It will get a good release on around 3000 screens despite the clash with Kangana Ranaut’s Panga. Considering all the positives and negatives, I am expecting ‘Street Dancer’ to take an average opening at the box office. The film needs to get a positive word of mouth to recover the budget and become a box office hit.

Street Dancer box office prediction based on word of mouth

Negative word of mouth: Rs 50-60 crore

Mixed word of mouth: Rs 65-75 crore

Positive word of mouth: Rs 90+ crore

Excellent word of mouth: Rs 120+ crore

As per my prediction, the film will struggle at the box office. Its lifetime collection would be around Rs 80 crore.
