Student Of The Year 2 day 2 box office collection: After a decent opening day, Tiger Shroff’s SOTY 2 witnessed around 15% growth on its second day.
As expected, Tiger Shroff, Ananya Pandey and Tara Sutaria starrer teen film ‘Student Of The Year 2’ saw a good jump in collection on Saturday. Reports suggest that the film grows by around 15% on Saturday as compared to its Friday collection.
As per Taran Adarsh, Student Of The Year 2 day 2 box office collection is 14.04 crores. The total collection of the movie after two days stands at 26.08 crores.
The movie is performing well in Mumbai and Eastern India. Mass centres dominating states like UP, Bihar, Rajasthan are on a lower side.
Being a multiplex film, this kind of growth was expected on Saturday. However, the real test will start on Monday. The drop on Monday will clearly tell where the movie goes.
The movie has received mixed reviews from the critics. The word of mouth of the general audience is negative.
Student Of The Year 2 box office collection
Student of the year 2 earned 12.06 crores on its opening day. It is the fifth highest opening day grosser of 2019 after Kalank, Kesari, Gully Boy and Total Dhamaal. It will be Tiger Shroff’s third or second highest opening day grosser, depending on the final numbers. Currently, Baaghi is in the second position with the first day collection of 11.94 crores.
26 crores in two days is a very good number considering the economics of the film. But the expectations were a bit high because of Tiger Shroff. Tiger’s last film Baaghi 2 had a superb opening of 25 crores.
Tiger Shroff has a huge fan following in mass centres but Student of The Year 2 is a youth romantic film which has a very limited appeal for masses.
SOTY 2 budget (including promotion and advertising cost) is 70 crores. It needs to earn 75+ crores to become a box office hit.
Student Of The Year 2 is a sequel to 2012 hit film Student Of The Year. It marks the debut of Tara Sutaria and Chunky Pandey daughter Ananya Panday. The movie is Karan Johar, Hiroo Yash Johar, Apoorva Mehta under Dharma Productions.
