Given the hype and media attention received by Super 30, it is likely to have a good opening at the box office. However, the trailer opened to mixed reviews.
Hrithik Roshan will be gracing the silver screen after two years with Super 30. He was last seen in applaud-worthy Kaabil in 2017 with Yami Gautam.
Super 30 is based on true-story of Anand Kumar, an excellent mathematician from Patna, Bihar who gave free coaching to IIT-JEE aspiring students.
He goes on to prepare 30 students for the reputed exam. The movie borrows its name from the widely circulated reports about the 30 stars that passed the toughest exam in India with flying colours.
As per latest news, by 2018 422 out 480 students have cleared the exam and made it to the respectable IITs under Anand Kumar’s guidance.
The film has a strong plot with an interesting story to narrate. However, the music hasn’t struck a chord with the listeners. Hence, it is pretty much forgettable. Besides, the trailer opened to mixed reviews from the audience. Hrithik’s performance has been lauded by everyone but his poor Bhojpuri accent has been called out by many.
With no other major release this Friday, Super 30 will most likely have a double-figure opening at the box office. As per the reports, the pre-booking response has been fairly good as the fans can’t wait to see the hottest Bollywood daddy back on the big screen.
The opening day should fetch 10-12 crores for the biography of Bihar’s star. However, the numbers may vary depending upon critics’ reviews and word-of-mouth. If accepted by the audience, Super 30 has the potential to score big at the box office.
Apart from superstar Hrithik Roshan, Mrunal Thakur will be seen playing the role of his wife in the firm. The veteran Pankaj Tripathi will be seen as Anand’s father and Pankaj Saxena as his rival.
