Taapsee Pannu will be essaying the role of the former skipper of Indian women cricket team Mitali Raj in her biopic film ‘Shabaash Mithu’.

‘PINK’ actress Taapsee Pannu is every biopic film maker’s favorite property at the moment. After playing the role of Prakashi Tomar, India’s oldest sharpshooter in ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, the actress announced her next film ‘Shabaash Mithu’. The talented actress will be playing the lead role of Mithali Raj, the captain of Indian women cricket team.

The rumors of Taapsee playing the lead in ‘Shabash Mithu’ were doing the rounds earlier this year. However, the actress chose Mithali Raj’s birthday date to officially announce the news. In her caption she wrote how honored she was to be playing the great Captain’s role in the film. She has even promised to deliver her best performance as a birthday gift to Mithali.

It seems Taapsee is finally ready to play the ‘cover drive’. In the photographs, Taapsee is seen cheering for Mithali as she cuts her birthday cake. Mithali cuts the cake to feed Taapsee who seems to have quite fun at the birthday celebrations.

In other news, Taapsee Pannu will be seen in not one, but two sports biopics. The actress will be essaying the role of athlete Rashmi from Gujarat in her biopic named ‘Rashmi Rocket’. The film is based on the life of a super fast runner Rashmi who was fondly addressed as ‘Rashmi Rocket’ in her village. This project is being helmed by Ronnie Screwvalla’s RSVP Movies. The motion poster released early this year received a lot of love and appreciation.

‘Shabaash Mithu’ will be backed by Viacom18 Studios and directed by ‘Raees’ helmer Rahul Dholakia.”Kudos to Viacom18 Studios for choosing to tell this story. I look forward to working with Rahul Dholakia for this first of its kind story and to learn yet another sport which is treated as a religion in our country, cricket,” Taapsee said in an interview.
