Actor Vicky Kaushal who was last seen in the blockbuster Uri: The Surgical Strike is all geared for his next release which is a horror film directed by debutant Bhanu Pratap Singh. In a shocking turn of events, the actor gets injured badly while shooting a hard-core action scene for the film.

The team was shooting in Alang (a real set, world’s biggest ship-breaking yard), Gujarat since the past five days. Vicky was shooting for an action scene in the ship wherein he had to run and open a door.

The stunt backfired as the door fell right back on him and injured his face badly. Vicky fractured his cheekbone and got 13 stitches on his cheekbone.

In interaction with Mumbai Mirror, a source present on the set revealed, “Unfortunately, the door fell on him and he was badly hurt. He was rushed to a local hospital by the crew and flown to Mumbai on Friday morning. The actor will be consulting a doctor in Mumbai and will be back in action once he is better.” 

A large portion of the movie was previously shot in Mumbai in a month-long schedule in January. The team was on a rigorous scheduled until Vicky got injured. The shooting of the film has been put on hold for the time being.

Besides this horror film, Vicky Kaushal has Karan Johar’s Takht and Shoojit Sircar’s Shoojit Sircar’s Udham Singh biopic. In Takht, he would be sharing screen space with big names likes Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Janhvi Kapoor.

Recently, he signed yet another film with Uri: The Surgical Strike director Aditya Dhar. If reports are to be believed then he’ll be seen essaying the role of Ashwatthama in the mythological film.
