Vicky Kaushal Replaces Akshay Kumar In Sajid Nadiadwala’s Film ‘Land Of Lungi’

Vicky Kaushal might play the lead in Sajid Nadiadwala’s next film Land Of Lungi. Akshay Kumar was the first choice.

Vicky Kaushal is slowly and steadily emerging as one of the big names in the industry. After delivering a blockbuster like Uri: The Surgical Strike, Vicky has his hands full of some big projects. Now, the reports suggest that the actor has replaced Akshay Kumar in LOL – Land Of Lungi, the Hindi remake of Tamil film Veeram.

Akshay Kumar was initially considered for the film. But now, since Akshay is busy with other films like Laxmmi Bomb and Sooryavanshi, the film has landed in Vicky Kaushal’s land.

A source close to the film told an entertainment website, “Akshay and Sajid have discussed the film and they were keen on doing it together. But now, Akshay won’t be part of the project anymore. He has already allotted his dates to a few other projects like Sooryavanshi, Laxmmi Bomb and The End. So, Akki suggested his good friend Sajid to go ahead and make LOL with someone else.”

The source added, “Vicky met Farhad a few months back and expressed his interest in the film. He already has his date diary full with a few films he’s already signed, especially the Udham Singh biopic and Karan Johar’s Takht. So, he has worked out his dates in such a way that he can headline Land Of Lungi now.”

This is the second film that Vicky has taken up after a superstar rejected it. He will star in astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s biopic Saare Jahaan Se Achcha which was rejected by Shah Rukh Khan. Although the official announcement hasn’t been made yet, it has been reported that Vicky has signed the film.
