BFA Course details which you must be aware of:

A Bachelor of Fine Arts (commonly abbreviated as BFA) is a standard undergraduate degree for students pursuing professional education in the visual, fine, or performing arts. The course is also referred to as Bachelor of visual arts (BVA).

Candidates can take up this course after class 12th, it is a 3 or 4 year UG degree course with specialization in either visual or performing arts. Visual arts comprises subjects such as painting, animation, literature, photography, sculpture, etc. 

The performing arts are mainly focused on theatre, acting, music, etc.

Course Details

BFA is a three to 4 year UG degree course that is divided into 6 or 8 semesters. The course curriculum of BFA includes both theory and practical subjects, the curriculum for a BFA course majorly depends on the specialization a candidate has chosen. 

Candidates can choose specialization as per their interest & passion and then pursue a master’s course in that specialization. Some of the specializations for BFA courses are:

For pursuing a BFA course there are no fixed eligibility conditions, but one must be aware of the following requirements:

  • Candidates should pass class 12th from a recognized board.
  • Some universities might have some minimum percentage required for pursuing this course.
  • Candidates having arts/humanities in class 12th might get some preference at the time of admission.
