Why Did DU Postpone DU UG 2022 Round 1 Allotment?
The University of Delhi decided to postpone the release of the DU UG first merit list after the Supreme Court announced that it would hear a plea from St Stephen’s College. It was against a Delhi High Court judgement that had instructed it to abide by the Delhi University’s admissions policy on Wednesday.
According to the top court’s order, the Common University Entrance Test (CUET)-2022 score must be given 100 percent weight for awarding admission to non-minority candidates in the college’s undergraduate programs. However, St. Stephen’s College only wishes to weigh the CUET by 85% and the interviews by 15% when accepting students across categories.
A window will open, from which applicants must accept the designated seat. It was supposed to go into effect on October 19. However, a delay in the DU UG first allotment procedure is anticipated. The deferment will probably also be publicly announced on Delhi University’s website.
