- On the homepage, click on the GATE 2023 option.
- A new webpage will open.
- Scroll all the way down to the notification bar.
- Click on the link that reads, “See announcement for GATE 2023 Examination at International Centers.”
- A new webpage with a notice will appear on screen.
- Read the notice carefully to get the complete update.
Notice For International Students
GATE 2023 exam centres in Dhaka (Bangladesh), Kathmandu (Nepal), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Male (Maldives), Port Louis (Mauritius), Singapore (Singapore), and Thimphu (Bhutan) have been withdrawn due to operational issues, according to a statement issued by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur.
The notice also read that in Dubai (UAE), the examinations on February 5 (for papers BM, CY, EC, EE, ES, and XH) and February 12 (for papers CE1, CE2, MN, and ST) will not be conducted.
IIT Kanpur has given these international candidates two options:
Option 1: Candidates can withdraw from the GATE 2023 examination and receive a full refund of their application fees.
Option 2: Candidates can appear for the exam in India in one of the conducting cities. Candidates will also be given a full refund of the original fees, but to appear for the examination, they need to pay the paper fees as follows:
- For Indian Nationals:
- Rs. 850/- for SC/ST/PWD and female candidates.
- Rs. 1700 for all others.
- For Foreign Nationals:
- Rs. 1700/-
To exercise option 2, candidates need to login to their accounts. Candidates need to mail the concerned authorities at [email protected] by December 5, 2022, to convey their decision.
Candidates need to mention their enrolment ID and name, and also the option they have chosen: (A) Withdrawal of GATE 2023 Candidature B) Writing the Examination in India.

GATE 2023 Exam Dates
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur will conduct the GATE 2023 exam in online computer-based test (CBT) mode on February 4, 5, 11, and 12, 2023.
The first shift will start from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., while the second shift will be held in the afternoon session, from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
