The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee, or IIT Roorkee, is the oldest engineering institute in India, established in 1847 as the College of Civil Engineering. In 2001, the Government of India converted it into the nation’s seventh IIT. The institute has been ranked 1st in architecture and 7th in the overall category by NIRF in 2022, and it is also accredited by NAAC with an ‘A+’ grade.

Entrance Exam 

IIT Roorkee accepts the national-level IIT-JEE for B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses, which are followed by JoSAAcounselling. A candidate is required to secure an AIR in JEE for admission to UG courses. Admission to PG courses like M.E./M.Tech., M.Arch., MBA, M.Sc., and M.Des. are made through various national-level exams like GATE, CAT, IIT JAM, CEED, etc.
