Letter By Congress MP, Karti P Chidambaram
“I would like to bring to your attention concerns raised by students who took the JEE Mains and Advanced in 2022,” Chidambaram wrote in his letter. These aspirants studied hard to secure admission into India’s leading engineering institutes; however, several hurdles that were completely outside their control denied them a fair opportunity at the exam.
Given that 2020 was the students’ final shot at the JEE Mains and Advanced, Chidambaram made a request to the government on their behalf. He has asked Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan to temporarily loosen the eligibility requirements so that these candidates may retake the exam in 2023.
Chidambaram also mentioned that a number of students were unable to take the exam since their exam locations had reportedly been altered at the last minute without any previous SMS or letter notification to them.
