Manipal Institute of Technology, also known as MIT Manipal, is the first self-financed college in India, established in 1957. It is a part of Manipal University that focuses on engineering education. MIT offers undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate degrees in various disciplines. B.Tech., M.Tech., and M.C.A. are the flagship courses of the MIT Manipal.

In addition to receiving approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), MIT Manipal is also accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an A++ grade. According to the NIRF Ranking of 2022, MIT is ranked 55th in engineering and 17th in the overall category.

MET

Every year, the institute holds the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) in three parts to admit students to the BTech and MTech programmes. The exam is conducted online via CBT. MET consists of four sections, namely physics, chemistry, math, and English, with a total of 240 marks. The duration of the exam is two hours. Both multi-choice and numeric-type questions are included in the exam. In addition to that, the university also accepts GATE results for the MTech programme.

Cut-Off

The authority will release the cutoff for the Manipal Entrance Test (MET) at counselling.manipal.edu. Candidates who meet the required cut-off and eligibility criteria will appear in the counselling procedure. The cut-off will be based on the following factors:

• MET exam 2023 difficulty level.
• Candidates appeared in the exam.
• Total number of seats available
• Previous year’s cutoff trends.

How to Apply for MIT 2023?

Candidates who are interested in applying to MIT are advised to complete their application online. The application link is available on the official website of the Manipal Institute of Technology. The steps to successfully fill out the application are provided below:

• Visit the official website of MAHE at https://manipal.edu.
• On the homepage, click on “Apply” and complete your registration with your full name, number, email, programme, and campus location .
• Click on Register and continue to get the login ID and password in your number and email.
• Now login and fill in personal details such as nationality, DOB, number, address, etc.
• Upload the scanned copy of the photograph and signature according to the specifications provided.
• Enter your educational qualification details, such as board, passing year, school name, etc.
• Select the course, stream, category, and test centre location and click on the “Continue to Pay” button.
• Pay the application charges and upload the required documents in the given format.
• Finally, submit the application within the given time frame and take a printout for reference.

Application Fee

Candidates must pay the MET 2023 application fee using a debit/credit card, internet banking, cash card, mobile payments, Paytm, wallets, or the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).

The Manipal Institute of Technology offers various scholarship programmes for both UG and PG courses. For students in the Indian or Domestic (General Category) programme, the institute also provides financial aid. As per the placement record for 2022, a total of 1,118 BTech students were placed. The highest package offered in 2022 was INR 44 LPA, while the average package was INR 10.36 LPA. A total of 301 visits were made to the campus for the placement drive.
