The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) released an official notice. MCC announced that all the candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round of the NEET UG counselling 2022 can resign till November 1, 2022. The committee made it very clear that after the deadline, candidates will be considered as part of NEET UG 2022 counselling round-2.

The official notice by MCC reads that the reporting of round-1 of UG Counselling 2022 is scheduled to end on October 28, 2022. It is for information that candidates can resign the seat of Round-1 till 05:00 P.M on November 1, 2022, after which they will be considered as part of Round-2 and the same rules will apply to them as applicable for Round-2 of counselling. “
The notice further reads, “In case a candidate gives consent for upgradation in Round 2, participates in Round 2 counselling but is not upgraded, s/he cannot resign the seat allotted in Round-2 and will have to retain the seat. In such a case, the rules of Round-2 will apply since the candidate has exercised choices and participated in Round-2. There is no option of resignation if a candidate is not upgraded in Round-2. Round-1 joined candidates who neither participate in Round-2 nor resign the seat of Round-1 will be considered part of Round-2 after the stipulated time.
Therefore, the candidates who wish to resign their seat in Round-1 should do so by 5:00 P.M. on November 1, 2022, before the beginning of Round-2.
Candidates Need to Generate a Resignation Letter
MCC warned applicants that if their resignation letter wasn’t generated online by the designated college, it would be considered “Null & Void.” The candidate “shall be deemed to occupy the seat still in such a circumstance, and the round-2 regulations will apply.”
