UPES Dehradun: The University of Petroleum and Energy Science was established in 2003 in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. UPES is a private university that is approved by the University Grant Commission and accredited by IACBE, NBA, and NAAC with an A grade. With an overall area of 44 acres, the university includes two campuses: UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli.

UPES is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The university is ranked in the 61st position in the engineering category and 97th overall. Altogether, there are seven schools that offer UG, PG, and PhD courses in engineering, management, the arts, law, health science, etc. B.Tech. is the flagship course, which is offered in 20 specialisations.

The university also provides distance learning, and all of its courses have DEC approval. The selection of candidates is based on the entrance exam and merit. The highest package offered at the university is INR 50 LPA for B.Tech. and INR 30 LPA for MBA.

For admission to particular programmes, UPES Dehradun holds its own entrance tests, such as UPESEAT for B.Tech., UPESMET UG for BBA, UPESPAT for Pharma, UPESMET for MBA, etc.

For admission to a select few degrees, the university also accepts results from other national entrance tests, such as the MAT, XAT, CAT, NMAT, SAT India, CUET, GATE, JEE Mains, etc.

Cut-off

After the exam, the UPES will announce the cut-off in the official website. Candidates should score a minimum of 60% in both the entrance exam as well as the 12th grade. The cut-off will depend on various factors such as the difficulty level of the exam, available seats, previous year’s trends, etc.

• After the fee submission, candidates have to add academic details such as qualification mark sheets and certificates and upload the required documents.

Application Fee

The candidates have to pay a nominal fee for the application. The fee can be paid via net banking, credit or debit card, UPI, RuPay, etc.
