The National Film Awards are one of the most prestigious awards that honor the best filmmaking talent across the country. The aim of the National Film Awards is to encourage the production of films of aesthetic and technical excellence and social relevance.
In 1954, the National Film Awards were referred to as the “State Awards.” Only the best movies in various regional languages were honored at the time. For her work in Raat Aur Din, Nargis became the first actor to receive the Best Actress award and, Uttam Kumar received the Best Actor award for Chiriyakhana and Antony Firingee.
This year RRR, Pushpa, Gangubai Kathiawadi, and Thalaivii are the top contenders for the Best Film Award. Ram Charan, Jr NTR, Allu Arjun, Alia Bhatt, Kangana Ranaut, and others are contenders for outstanding performances.

The winners of the prestigious 69th National Film Awards will be announced today at 5 p.m. The winners of the National Film Awards 2023 will be announced by the Press Information Bureau (PIB), and live streaming will be done on the official YouTube channel as well as the Facebook page of PIB.
Even last year the Press Information Bureau (PIB) live telecasted the 68th National Film Awards 2022.
