83 Review
Makers had unveiled 83: The Film trailer on the social media platforms describing the story as “One of The Biggest Underdog Stories in the History of Sports” which had created a buzz before the theatrical release.
The interesting fact about the ’83 world cup is that there’s no video footage available of Kapil Dev’s unbeaten 175 against Zimbabwe in the group stage match. Owing to the broadcasting channel BBC was on strike that day, why? you will get the answer in the film.
The director aptly filmed that scene, in particular, that scene in the innings when Kapil hit the six and the ball went directly towards the Indian dugout.
Ranveer Singh portrayed the skipper Kapil’s role very beautifully, he has gone into the skin of the character, the film makes you laugh, and fills you with pride at the same time, goosebumps for sure.
