Basking in the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Bollywood actor Kartik Aryan is on a signing spree mode currently, the actor already has Freddy, Shehzada, and Satyaprem Ki Katha on the pipeline.
And as per the latest reports, Pyaar Ka Punchnama actor is all set to star in the third film of the Aashiqui franchise, titled Aashiqui 3. The makers of the film made the announcement recently with a photo featuring Anurag Basu, Pritam, Mukesh Bhatt, Kartik and Bhushan Kumar.

The earlier two parts had taken the box office by storm, and the next part of this musical franchise is also expected to win the BO all over again. It will be helmed by Anurag Basu, known for delivering the films like Murder, Gangster, Barfi, and Ludo. And will be produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt under their respective banner T-Series and Vishesh Films.

Kartik Aryan will star in the third installment however, the lead actress is yet to be cast. Aashiqui and Aashiqui 2’s music was widely loved by the audience and this time Pritam is onboard to compose music. He has earlier composed the music for Anurag’s Gangster, Jagga Jasoos, Barfi and Life in a Metro.

Mahesh Bhatt directorial Aashiqui was released in 1990, it was made with a budget of only 80L and had grossed around 5 crores with the shows running to packed houses till 52 weeks. As per Wikipedia, the soundtrack album of Aashiqui had sold 20 million units which makes it the best-selling Bollywood soundtrack album of all time.
Its spiritual successor Aashiqui 2 was released in April 2013 and it again like the first part emerged as a blockbuster at the box office. It was made with a budget of 18 crores and grossed over 109 crores at the box office in its entire theatrical. Despite negative reviews and featuring newcomers-Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor- it emerged as one of the highest-grossing films of 2013.
