The leading OTT streaming giant Amazon Prime Video always delivers something unique and promising to its viewers, which makes him one of the favorite OTT platforms for the Indian audience.
Now to make its grip stronger in the Indian market, the streamer at its first-ever Prime Video Presents India event in Mumbai, on Thursday, April 28, 2022, announced over 40 new titles of its upcoming projects including original web series, original movies, and co-productions in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages that are planned to be launched over the next 24 months.
Along with announcing the new season of its sleeper hit series like Mirzapur, Paatal Lok, and The Family Man, the streamer also announced some fresh series that include Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi, Naga Chaitanya’s Dhootha, Sonakshi Sinha led Dahhad.
Another most talked about fresh new series is Adhura, a supernatural thriller which is going to be produced by Emmay Entertainment. Let’s talk about the series.
Adhura Cast & Crew
Actress Rashika Dugal, who is the best know for portraying Beena Tripathi in Prime Video’s Mirzapur series, is playing the female lead in the film. The actress is not new to the OTT world as she earlier appeared in and received critical appraisal for multiple web series like Made in Heaven (2019), Delhi Crime (2019), Out of Love (2019-21), and A Suitable Boy (2021), etc. Adhura is the third Amazon Prime web series where she is going to appear after Mirzapur and Made in Heaven.
Ishwak Singh who appeared in movies like Veere Di Wedding and Malaal is playing the male lead in the series. Earlier, he appeared in Prime video’s crime thriller Paatal Lok as a young and idealistic cop Imran Ansari and the streamer anthology film Unpaused.
Adhura Makers
This supernatural thriller is directed by Gauravv K. Chwala, known for his work in P.O.W. Bandi Yuddh Ke (2016) along with Ananya Banerjee, who wrote the series along with Anand Jain.
It is jointly bankrolled by Nikhil Advani, his sister Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwai under the banner of their banner Emmay Entertainment, which in the past produced movies like D-Day, Airlift, Katti Batti, Lucknow Central, Satyameva Jayate, Baazaar, Indoo Ki Jawani, etc.

Adhura Announcement
It is one of the 40 projects announced by Amazon Prime Video on April 28, 2022. The title was unveiled with the series’ first look along with the caption “A supernatural thriller set in an elite boarding school which hides a secret so dark that it will shake up everything.”
