Ajay Devgn turns 53 on 2nd April 2022, is one of the popular actors of Bollywood who is well known for working in filmmaker Rohit Shetty’s two super hit franchises Golmaal and Cop Universe.
Although the actor has not appeared in any movie as a lead actor, since his 2021 war drama Bhuj: The Pride of India, the actor often makes headlines for his hit cameo appearances in many big budget movies.

1- RRR
Let’s start with the RRR, Bahubali fame director S.S. Rajmouli’s most-awaited period action drama which has been running successfully and making the audience go crazy since its release.
The film had its grand theatrical release on Friday, March 25, 2022 and opened to highly positive response from audience as well as critics and broke the record for the highest opening day collection earned by an Indian film by grossing Rs. 223 Crore on the opening day, worldwide collection crosses Rs 750 Cr.
The film stars Tollywood heartthrobs Jr NTR as Kamaram Bheem and Rama charan as Alluri Sitarama Raju, the two Indian revolutionaries, who fought Nizam of Hyderabad and the British Regime.
In the movie Ajay Devgn made an impactful cameo by playing the role of the past, that is, of Rama Raju’s father Venkata Rama Raju. Along with him actress Alia Bhatt also made a cameo in the movie as Sita.
2- Gangubai Kathiawadi
Another film in which Ajay Devgn made his cameo appearance in actor Alia Bhatt starrer biographical crime drama film Gangubai Kathiawadi.
It is based on the life journey Gangubai Harjivandas, popularly known as Gangubai Kothewali, and prostitute, who used to run a brothel in Kamathipura area of Mumbai during 1960s. It was also documented in S. Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai.
Ajay Devgn made his 20-minute long and impactful cameo in the movie by playing the role of a don and Sworn brother of Gangubai. His role was inspired by Karim Lala, one of the three mafia dons of Mumbai between 1960s to 1980s.
The film was directed by ace filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who has also served as showrunner as well as producer of the movie. So far, the film has grossed Rs. 191 Crore against the total budget of Rs. 100-150 Crore.
3- Sooryavanshi
Khiladi Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif starrer cop action drama film Sooryavanshi is another film in the list. The film is the fourth installment of its director Rohit Shetty’s Cop Universe after Singham (2011), Singham Returns (2014) and Simmba (2018).
The film was released theatrically on November 5, 2021 coinciding with Diwali and earned Rs. 26.29 at BO on the opening day. The film turned-out-to be a big blockbuster by grossing Rs. 294.13 Crore against a total budget of Rs. 160 Crore.
In the movie, Ajay Devgn made his cameo by playing his iconic character, DCP Bajirao Singham from Sigham and Singham Returns, a role which gave him especially recognition among his fans.
Along with Ajay, actor Ranveer Singh also appeared in extended cameo appearances in the movie and reprised his role as Inspector Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba.
4- Simmba
Actor Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan Starrer Simmba is the third installment of director Rohit Shetty’s cop universe. It was bankrolled by Rohit Shetty’s banner Rohit Shetty Picturez along with Reliance Entertainment and Karan Johar’s Dharma Production.
The film was the Hindi remake of Jr NTR starrer Telugu action film Temper, and it follows Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba, a corrupt Police officer hailing from the same town as Singham.
Hence, there was a cameo role of Ajay Devgn as DCP Bajirao Singham from his Singham and Singham Returns. Ajay’s presence in the film was very crucial and impactful.
The film was released on December 27, 2018 in the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and in India as well as International territories on the following day. It earned a whopping amount of Rs. 400.19 Crore against the total budget of Rs. 80 Crore.
5- Fitoor

The fifth film in the list is Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial Hindi romantic drama film Fitoor, which was based on English writer and critic Charles Dickens’s 1861 novel Great Expectations.
Starring Actor Aditya Roy Kapoor and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, the film has screenplay by its director Abhishek Kapoor, who also served as producer. It was released on February 12, 2016.
In the film, Ajay Devgn Played Kapoor’s mentor and Godfather, Moazam aka Mirza Baig, and his presence in the film made an impactful. However, the film underperformed at the box-office, the film’s music, cinematography, and performance of the cast received praises.
